Worked example
Measured on our own 21 second WebM with VP9 video and Opus sound, saved as MP3 at 192 kbps.
Source WebM
3.3 MB
MP3, 0:21
496 KB
The Opus track was 96 kbps; the MP3 is 192 kbps, because MP3 needs more bits for the same quality. Opus is always 48 kHz, so the MP3 kept 48 kHz too.
1. Add your file. 2. Pick the output. 3. Convert in the tab. 4. Listen and download.

Questions
Asked and answered
No. The file is read by the page and converted by ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, on your own machine. There is no upload step, and closing the tab discards everything.
VP8, VP9 or AV1 video, and Opus or Vorbis sound. All of them are open formats from the web world, which is why browsers record in WebM and why Apple apps and many Windows programs struggle with it.
Opus is newer than MP3 and needs fewer bits for the same quality, so an MP3 that sounds as good takes more space. In the worked example, a 96 kbps Opus track became a 192 kbps MP3. That is the price of a file every player opens.
Pick M4A or OGG under Convert to. AAC and Vorbis both sound better than MP3 at the same bitrate, so a lower setting gives a smaller file of the same quality. MP3 is the choice when the file has to play on anything.
Yes. Open More options and set a start time, like 0:03. The end time works the same way. Add a one second fade so the cut does not click.
