Assumptions

Change any of these to your own quotes. They travel in the link.

$

Studios run about 3,000 to 10,000 dollars a finished minute (Vidico, Blue Carrot).

$

Motion graphics freelancers run about 900 to 4,000 dollars a finished minute (Vidico).

$

A minute of motion graphics takes about 30 to 60 hours (Hocus Pocus Studio). The hourly figure is a loaded cost, rounded up from the Salary.com motion designer average.

$

Professional dubbing runs about 20 to 50 dollars a minute per language (VerboLabs).

Most quotes include two or three rounds, and an extra round runs from a few hundred to about a thousand dollars. We found no public figure for in-house revision hours, so that field starts empty and counts nothing until you fill it in.

The comparison

Worked example

Two finished minutes, three extra languages, two revision rounds, at the default rates. Move a slider and it becomes yours.

RouteProductionTotal
Agency$12,000$12,180
Freelancer$5,000$5,180
In-house team$3,600$3,780
Interlacelowest$5.66$19.14

On these assumptions the same video costs $19.14 with Interlace, $3,780 with the cheapest of the other three (in-house team), and $12,180 with agency. That is about 197 times the Interlace figure at the low end.

  • Agency. 2 min at $6,000 a minute, 2 rounds included.
  • Freelancer. 2 min at $2,500 a minute, 2 rounds included.
  • In-house team. 30 hours a minute at $60.00 an hour. Revision hours not counted until you set them.
  • Interlace. 660 credits at Creator plan rates, 1080p, new narration in each language.

Questions

Asked and answered

Published 2026 pricing guides. Agency and studio cost per finished minute: Vidico (vidico.com/explainer-video-production/explainer-video-cost/) and Blue Carrot (bluecarrot.io/blog/explainer-video-production-pricing-guide/), which put studios at roughly 3,000 to 10,000 dollars a finished minute and full service agencies higher. Freelance rates: Vidico's animation cost guide (vidico.com/news/how-much-does-animation-cost/), roughly 900 to 4,000 dollars a minute for motion graphics. They are starting points, not quotes.

Hours per finished minute multiplied by a loaded hourly cost. The default of 30 hours a finished minute is the low end of the motion graphics range in Hocus Pocus Studio's production timeline guide (hocuspocus.studio/animation-production-timeline), which puts a minute of motion graphics at 30 to 60 hours. The default hourly figure is rounded up from the Salary.com motion designer average to allow for overhead. Both fields are editable.

The per language rate is dubbing and voice over cost per minute of finished video. VerboLabs (verbolabs.com/dubbing-prices/) puts mid range professional dubbing at 20 to 40 dollars a minute and agencies at 20 to 50 dollars or more, which is where the default sits. The Interlace column instead uses our published credit price for a new narration in another language.

Most agencies include two or three rounds in the quote and bill the rest. Mediabistro's agency billing guide and studio pricing pages put an extra round at a few hundred to about a thousand dollars, so the default extra round sits inside that band and the number of included rounds is editable. For an in-house team a revision costs hours, not invoices, so that field starts empty for you to fill in.

From the same credit math as our pricing page: about 85 credits a finished minute at 1080p, about 12 credits a minute for each extra language with new narration, and a rebuild from an edited script for each revision round. Credits are priced at the Creator plan rate. Nothing here is a discount that only exists on this page.
