This Privacy Policy explains how Interlace ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and services. We've written it to be readable. If anything is unclear, email us at privacy@interlacevideo.com.
Who we are
Interlace is an AI video platform that turns documents, scripts, and prompts into finished, narrated video. Interlace is operated by Swapnil Adhik Jagtap, a sole proprietor registered in Maharashtra, India, who is the controller responsible for your personal data when you use our services.
Data we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account data. Your name, email address, password, and workspace details when you create an account.
- Content you provide. The documents, scripts, prompts, brand assets, and other material you upload or generate to produce videos.
- Voice consent records. If you record your own narrator voice, we keep the consent statement you read, a short transcript of it, the time, and a fingerprint of the recording, for as long as that voice exists.
- Billing data. Plan, transaction history, and limited payment details. Payments are processed by our payment providers (Dodo Payments, Paddle where enabled, and Razorpay); we do not store full card numbers.
- Usage data. How you interact with the product (features used, credits consumed, and similar activity) to operate and improve the service.
- Device and log data. IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and timestamps, collected automatically when you use the site.
How we use your data
We use personal data to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the service, including generating your videos.
- Authenticate you, secure your account, and prevent abuse or fraud.
- Process payments and manage your subscription.
- Respond to your requests and provide support.
- Send service messages and, where permitted, relevant product updates.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We rely on the legal bases of contract performance, legitimate interests, consent (where required), and legal obligation, depending on the purpose.
How we share data
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Sub-processors that help us run the service. Currently: Google Cloud (Gemini models for images and speech, and hosting), OpenAI (language models for scripts and storyboards, and for the free AI tools on our website), ElevenLabs (optional premium voices), Railway (application hosting), Cloudflare (web hosting, storage, content delivery, speech to text for the free transcription tools, and the cache for free tool results), Dodo Payments, Paddle and Razorpay (payments), and PostHog (product analytics). We update this list when it changes.
- Professional advisors and authorities where required by law or to protect our rights.
- A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
Sub-processors are bound by contractual obligations to protect your data and use it only to provide their services to us.
Your content and AI generation
Content you upload is used to generate your videos and is stored with our cloud hosting and storage providers. We process it only to deliver the features you ask for. We do not use your content to train our own models, and our AI providers process it under terms that do not permit them to train on it either. A Data Processing Agreement is available on request for organizations that need one.
Free tools
The free AI tools on our website send their input to an AI provider to generate the result. The text tools (script, quiz, translation and similar generators) send the text you paste, or the text read from your file, to OpenAI, and image to text sends the image to OpenAI. Transcription and the video summarizer send the audio track of your file to Cloudflare Workers AI for speech to text; the summarizer then sends the transcript to OpenAI. Neither provider uses this data to train its models, and we do not log or keep your input. Text results are cached with Cloudflare for up to 30 days so a repeat run is fast. The other free video and file tools run entirely in your browser and never upload your file.
International transfers
We may process and store data in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect it.
Data retention
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, your videos, uploads, and generated assets are deleted within 30 days. Billing records are kept for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires, currently up to 8 years, after which they are deleted or anonymized.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, these rights arise under the GDPR. If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, we do not sell or share personal information in that sense. To exercise any right, email privacy@interlacevideo.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the site works.
Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, and audit-style governance. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information and to respond promptly if an issue arises. To report a vulnerability, contact security@interlacevideo.com.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date below and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
