Worked example
Measured on a 4 page A4 policy with text, a table and one picture, at 150 DPI.
213 KB
4 JPGs, 1241 by 1756
655 KB
Images of pages are bigger than the PDF, because the PDF stores words and the images store every pixel. The page with the picture alone came to 299 KB; a page of plain text was 47 KB.
1. Add the PDF. 2. Pick DPI and pages. 3. Watch the pages draw. 4. Download.

Questions
Asked and answered
No. The PDF is opened by pdf.js, the same PDF engine Firefox uses, running inside your tab. There is no upload step, and closing the tab discards everything.
DPI is pixels per inch of paper. 72 DPI gives an A4 page about 595 by 842 pixels, enough for a preview. 150 DPI gives about 1240 by 1754, sharp on a laptop screen and on a slide. 300 DPI gives about 2480 by 3508, for printing or zooming in, and the files are several times bigger.
JPG for pages that are mostly photographs: the files are small and look right. For pages that are mostly text, lines and flat colour, PNG keeps every edge crisp, where JPG leaves faint smudges around letters. If you are not sure, convert one page both ways and compare.
Yes. Choose pages and type numbers and ranges, such as 2, 5-7 or 10- for page 10 to the end. One run draws up to 100 pages; for a longer PDF, run it in parts.
Not while it has a password. Open it in your PDF reader, save a copy without the password, and use that copy. We never ask for the password, because we would have to handle it to open the file.
Because a JPG is a picture of the page. The words are now pixels. If you need the words themselves, use PDF to text, which reads them out of the PDF.
