Free image converter: HEIC, WebP, AVIF, PNG, JPG, SVG and ICO

Convert images between formats in your browser.

Your images

Drag a file here, paste it, or choose one.

.heic, .heif, .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .webp, .avif, .gif, .bmp, .svg. Up to 50 MB.

HEIC, JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP or SVG. Add up to 50.

Your images never leave your browser. They are decoded and redrawn here in the page.

Convert to

Opens in everything. No transparency, so clear areas get the background colour under More options.

85 to 90 looks the same as the original to most eyes. Lower makes smaller files.

Remove location and camera data

Always on. Redrawing the image in the browser drops EXIF, GPS position and the camera model, so there is no way to keep them here. A photo's rotation is applied to the pixels first, so it stays the right way up.

Worked example

Measured on our own batch of 8 files in 8 formats, HEIC to SVG, all converted to JPG at quality 90.

8 files in

3.3 MB

8 JPGs out

905 KB

The BMP alone was 2.6 MB and became 136 KB. The small WebP and SVG grew, because JPG needs more bytes than either. One zip came back with all eight.

Questions

Asked and answered

No. Every image is decoded and saved again inside this tab. HEIC uses libheif and AVIF output uses an encoder, both compiled to WebAssembly and loaded only when needed. Nothing goes to a server.

JPG for photos you will share or upload. PNG for screenshots, logos and anything transparent. WebP for images on your own website. AVIF when file size matters most and you know the viewer supports it. ICO for a favicon.

Yes. Add HEIC photos, PNG screenshots and a WebP from a website together. They all come out in the one format you pick.

AVIF encoding is heavy work, and here it runs in a single browser thread. A large photo can take several seconds. JPG, PNG and WebP are written by the browser itself and are near instant.

Only the first frame is converted. To turn a video into a GIF, use the video to GIF tool.

Yes, always. Redrawing an image drops EXIF, GPS and camera fields. Rotation is applied to the pixels before saving.
